Black. White. Camo

Heading to dinner and needing something to throw over my billowy dress, I opted for a satin tuxedo jacket and some camo-colored heels.
After a long day of filming the easiest thing to do with my hair and big, bad roots is to throw a headband over it. Done and done.
It's about layering this week, and I layered the bracelet cuffs left and right.

The camo shoes are my nod to army green for night.

You can be Boho and still rock a blazer. Nothing negates the one from the other.

Learning to Layer: Shirts on Shirts

Fall having arrived in earnest, layering is all the rage. If you've got a button-down shirt, throw a vest or additional top right over it. So roll up your sleeves... and then roll again.

Today's choice of layers was easy, since this chambray shirts is softer and thinner than your average, cotton twill. I rolled the sleeves just below the line of my top. (And then I kicked up my heels)!
I've been on the prowl for a large, structured bag, but in the meantime this Oxblood, vintage number is a really good fall fill-in. (Did I mention I once designed handbags in a previous career)...?
A little shoe reveal: it's not a bootie, It's a boot. (From ages ago), but this grey color is hitting hard for fall so It's coming out of retirement!

Leather On Tap

We've been inundated with leather, pleather, and "vegan" leather since fall began. I'm thankful to have purchased several of my leather and leatherette pieces off season. They may have sat around in my closet over the summer, but I'm reaping the rewards of pre-sales now.
I found this crop top both in black and white during one of those "epic" half yearly sales at LF back in May. I love the mod-esque discs cut from pleather on mesh, and I've been waiting for the right moment to wear it out. I'm so glad now that I bought it in two colors. Who knew that the crop top shapes I wore in junior high would be making such a staggering comeback...?
This skirt is a beautiful, vintage leather piece I picked up at a favorite re-saler's. As a vegetarian I don't often buy leather outright, but when it's vintage and therefore recycled I don't feel uncomfortable about purchasing it. It's a classic cut and fit, (right above the knees, slit back for movement, and fully lined). Truly an excellent find!
If like me and you're beginning to re-embrace crop tops and sheers, you can find similar styles online. Here are a few I like. Below, available at Forever21, this perforated mesh top, $15 here.
Or these cropped numbers from Asos, for $67, here, and $21, here.
And although my heels are sold out at ShoeMint, you can find their twin in black as Asos on sale for $67! Check out the London Rebel Gillie, here.

Monday Morning, (not so) Blues

Happy Monday All!
Pants and Jacket: H&M, Tee: Nordstrom, Heels: B Makovsky, Necklace: JewelMint, Bag: Paul and Joe Sister

I've been on the go, shooting and playing catch up on sleep, (and my life) for the past three weeks. This morning while running errands and getting back on track I threw on the world's most comfy harem pants. Those coupled with super soft wedges managed to make me feel like I was still in PJ's, without looking like it.

This week I'll have some great, new, skincare giveaways and makeup reviews, so stay tuned!

Casual Sunday: Shoot Day

It's been a crazy couple of weeks filled with set work and location shoots. Because of filming, I find myself perpetually in jeans. (They're the working girl's go-to on set). I really have invested more than I ever thought I would on trend denim and good t-shirts.
This past weekend  I worked with my dear friend Dr Eris, from LA Shrinks, creating a gorgeous, pregnancy photo shoot, (and let me tell you, the woman looks amazing with only 6 weeks to go)!
My uniform? Distressed denim and some last-of-the-summer weather sandals.
And of course, a few vintage baubles.
Jeans: Vigoss, Flats: Vince Camuto, Shirt: BB Dakota, Necklace: Vintage, Bracelets: Vintage

Although I'm fervently awaiting the end of the week when I can put on heels and a dress, I'll hold out a little bit longer for a few more shoot days.

Mom: My Style Icon

Every woman who loves fashion and beauty has a style icon. When polled, women cite Coco Chanel, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Lauren Bacall, and so many others. But my style icon has always been my Mom.
Just look at her 16 year old self in an up-do with pencil skirt and giant sunnies! In Poland, and later in Israel she was looking so boho/chic and flower-power pretty.
These are my favorite images of her. Rocking some fabulous, boho patterned maxis. I swear our DNA is hardwired. I am truly her daughter...
They say everything in fashion comes back around. From the boho top to the maxi denim, to the cognac boots, Mom's rocking it all.

With Love, (to my Mom)

Working Girl: Studio Style

Heading to a sound stage and I'm probably risking a makeup calamity by wearing white jeans to work, but they're so "in" for fall that I can't resist!
While we're required by law to wear closed toed shoes "on set", it's also a great excuse to bring high boots out of storage. It's getting a little cooler and these babies are itching to be worn. I purchased these Kelsi Girls over ten years ago and they still look great, retain their shape, and remain a classic style. (In the key of riding boot)...

Did I mention I'm putting fake mustaches on actors all day?
Jeans: Gap, Tee: Via Ross, Boots: Kelsi Girl, Jacket: H&M, Earrings: JewelMint

Done. Off to the show...

Leopard Redux

Leopard print has reemerged this season as it so often does every couple of years. If you've got some good animal prints hiding in your closet bring 'em on out, because fall is here and it's officially time to get back to leopard, cheetah, zebra, and more. If you were holding on to that one, loud piece, it's fashion recycle time!
And not unlike leopard print, the ubiquitous, white tank top and black blazer re-emerge season after season. If I'm feeling a little slack about choosing an outfit, I can throw on a tee and blazer with anything and glide out to work.
Red lips and skull earrings are my current obsession. Actually anything with skulls is kind of adorable.

Jacket and Tank: H&M, Booties: Vince Camuto, Necklace and Earrings: JewelMint, Skirt: Vintage, Lips: NARS Red Square

If you've got a print you love, hold on to it. Animal prints, florals, polka dots and more are all re-emerging for fall. And if you love this vintage print, you can shop it at my Etsy Store.
