Fall is almost underway. I can actually feel the seasons changing faster than I would like as the summer nights seem to grow exponentially cooler here in LA. 

One thing that fall brings is change, and change can happen in a variety of forms. Here's a fun lesson on interview makeup for anyone who's changes could be right around the corner. Enjoy!

Silver and Gold: And A Personal Giveaway

I've been a little MIA for the past couple of weeks. Shooting has kept me extremely busy, (I wrapped two webisodic shows, four commercials, two promos, and completed more filming on a private client's cable show).  But it's Friday, and I wanted to give away something a little more personal, and closer to my heart.

Tonight's giveaway features one of my favorite things, (handmade jewelry from my native country--Israel). I'm never as complimented as when I wear jewelry from "home" and so this week you'll all have an opportunity to win a little piece of my heritage.

Black and Black: Work to Play

Work to play wardrobe changes can be really, really fast for me. Sometimes I'm limited to a change of shoes and jewelry in the interest of time. But there's nothing you can't fake with black!

 

Yesterday I began my set day in a black shell, black jeans, black combat booties, plus fedora and a vintage necklace.

I didn't have time to change my attire for dinner, but I try to keep a spare set of both flipflops and heels in my trunk. I also try to switch out silver for gold to pump things up at night.

Mascara Review

Ladies,

Did you know that the number one, most highly sold beauty product in the United States is mascara? I believe statistically one is sold every ten seconds. In the time it took to write this, at least 4 flew off the shelf.

Which brings me to my latest find, Makeup Forever's newest addition, the Smokey Extravagant Mascara.

RACHEL: On Sale...

Over the last several years I've come to love Rachel Roy and her wonderfully clean take on American fashion. Maybe it was her humble beginnings as a  music video stylist, or her first launch into ready-to-wear that I relate to so personally. But with her mid priced collection, RACHEL at Macy's, I can finally afford more of her Cali inspired garb.

I chanced upon this baby-doll number a couple of weeks ago on sale. It's a little more boho/whimsical than what I normally associate with Rachel Roy, but I love the subtle coloration and billowing arms.

 

It was also the perfect dress for the heat wave I've been experiencing up in Santa Barbara this week. Light chiffon but fully lined gives the perception of sheer without the peek-a-boo factor.

Red, White and Blue

Happy 4th!

Red on Red on Red

I'm up and running early this morning for a quick shoot and then some creative time with another makeup artist. I'm racing to set and for some reason I have a hankering for red, on red, on red.

I don't mind mixing tones, and the combination of tomato red with cranberry creates a distinct punch between warm and cool tones in the same palette.
