Tel Aviv Street Style

I returned this morning from a trip abroad to my hometown of Tel-Aviv. The unexpected and joyful wedding to which I was Middle East bound gave me a fantastic excuse to check out some current, Israeli fashion. Not surprisingly, it's not that different from our own, beloved, LA and NYC fashionistas. (Check out the spiked booties and declarative, hipster-esque hat and suspenders)...
At a late night meal inside a hot spot bistro, I couldn't resist snapping our adorable waitresses on our second-to-last evening out on the town. Each one had her own, cute take on current trends. This cutie was wearing an open back, floral romper-print...
...While her cohort looked chic and urban in high waist-ed pants and a silky top. Very 40's, very "now". She was rocking it and I kind of wanted to steal those pants.
 Loving this leg!
For my part, it's all about dressing for the weather, which was already turning very, very warm.

So I donned a lot of sheer fabrics, (silks and chiffon and threadbare cottons). This is a vintage, sequined top I picked up at a boutique in Detroit, paired with ruffled, palazzo pants and my fave, Bedouin jewels.
Pants: Boutique, Main Street Venice, Heels: Boutique 9, Top: Vintage, Bag: Rafe

Sadly, this trip did not leave room for my typical, flea market, antiquing, and trend, boutique shopping. I landed on a long, holiday weekend which closed down all retail businesses from Friday-Monday. But then again, there's always next year! In the interim, I'll close with a few "Inspirations" from Castro, a mainstream, Israeli, fashion brand. Enjoy!

Yum!

Little Red Blazer

I've been waiting for an excuse to pull out this button-less blazer, which seemed to screaming, "Maxi-Skirt wanted!"
Fortunately this silk one fit the bill. I love the pockets, lower ruffle, and floor dragging lengths!
A little silver, a messy bun, and I was out the door.

When all else fails and you're left with minimal time, a maxi and a quick up-do will save you.

Kimono Love

I'm on a Re-saler, Crossroads Love-fest this past week.
Having created a new "rule", (if something goes in my closet, something has to come out) I've been on a clothing swap-out throughout April and May. (Call it my concurrent, spring cleaning).
These heels were a new trade, (meaning I traded some old things and got these still newly minted out of the box). (See the original blog here). The kimono was a recent find that was meant to be worn as a jacket, but I couldn't resist purchasing it to wear obi-sash style. The only thing I needed was a slip underneath and a few bits of silver.
Plus my new, favorite tie-around, raffia and leather belt.
Vintage, Bedouin necklaces.
Kimono and Heels: Trade, Belt: Zara, Slip: Vintage via Melrose Flea Market

And It was off to my dear friend's birthday party at the "W"! Good times to be had! (If only I can manage to walk without stabbing myself with these heels... ;)

A Girl's Day Out

I had the most delightful morning visit with a girlfriend who's time I've sorely missed!
We took a morning stroll to Abbott Kinney for breakfast, and she was wearing the softest, most snuggly, cotton togs I've ever felt. (See her blog all about the brand here).
I was feeling deliciously casual, and threw on my favorite pair of Jeffrey Campbell "Chainiator" flats. I really wish I'd bought them in every color years ago because they're SO comfy!
I had also picked up this found object necklace the day before on Main Street in Venice. I love the concept: A mother/daughter pair who find old items and stamp them with phrases. Mine said Memories, Journey, and so forth...
T-Shirt: F21, Necklaces:Venice Boutique, Jewelmint, Leather Mini: Vintage, Sandals: Jeffrey Campbell

...And there's just nothing like making those memories with good friends. A coffee, some time with her "monkey", a little window shopping, and a lot of laughter. Good for the soul!

Simple Outing

This morning I noticed my bird feeder has attracted robins and a lone hummingbird! I must have been channeling my feathered friends when I went searching through my closet and pulled out this print.
I attached some feathers to my ponytail--a fun and easy way to look amp-ed up when you really haven't the patience to style your tresses.
Wood on the wrist, wood on the heels. It's an organic feeling day...

You may be noticing a trend towards bilious skirts. I think we can't have enough of them!

Barefoot Bliss

I recently traded in some short, spring frocks for this soft, supple, Jerome sheath. I've never felt anything so soft in my life. It's the most comfortable cotton I've ever put against my skin.
Putting on something this soft just makes me want to go about barefoot!
A belt, some earrings, and very little else...
What better way to spend a Friday than sans shoes? Now I just need a mani pedi to go with this look.

Hale Bob does Boho

I recently did another clean-out of my closet and swept the ensuing garments over to my favorite re-saler, Crossroads Trading Co.
After selling a couple dozen pieces, I went meandering around the store and found this adorable, Hale Bob wrap dress with the tags still attached.

Yum! Raspberry tones for summer. I never wear these sorbet colors, but I have to admit, they're very attractive... So I traded a lot of black for some rainbow sunshine.
Dress: Hale Bob, Shoes: Vince Camuto, Hat: Gift from loving assistant, Earrings: Gift from a dear friend
